Position Overview

The Technical Project Manager will lead complex technology initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver software and application development projects within a financial services environment. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project leadership, and financial industry knowledge.

The ideal candidate will bring 8–10+ years of relevant professional experience, including prior hands-on software or application development experience, and a proven ability to translate business objectives into technical deliverables. Candidates must have experience in wealth management, investments, banking, financial services, or fintech.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex technology projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, technology leaders, architects, developers, QA teams, and other cross-functional groups to drive project outcomes.
  • Leverage prior software development experience to understand technical architectures, application dependencies, integration points, and implementation considerations.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable technical plans, milestones, deliverables, and project roadmaps.
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocation, dependencies, risks, issues, and change requests, proactively identifying and resolving delivery blockers.
  • Facilitate project meetings, technical discussions, status reviews, and stakeholder communications to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor project progress and delivery performance, communicating risks, mitigation plans, and key decisions to leadership.
  • Coordinate application development, system integration, testing, deployment, and release activities as applicable.
  • Ensure project deliverables align with applicable technology standards, security requirements, risk controls, and financial services compliance expectations.
  • Drive collaboration across business and technology teams to support successful delivery in a complex, highly regulated environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of professional experience in technology project management, technical program delivery, software development, or related technology roles.
  • Prior hands-on software or application development experience earlier in your career; candidates must possess a strong technical foundation beyond project coordination alone.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end technology projects involving software applications, platforms, integrations, or enterprise systems.
  • Ability to engage effectively with engineering teams and understand technical requirements, application architecture, system dependencies, and development lifecycles.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities across multiple teams.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with complex business and technical requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting wealth management, investment platforms, brokerage services, or financial technology initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating API integrations, enterprise application modernization, data initiatives, or large-scale platform implementations.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulatory, security, risk management, and governance requirements.
  • Experience using project management and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft Project.
