Job Description
Basic Function
Ensures the day-to-day operations of the shift in regard to resident/employee scheduling and activities. Ensures federal, state and facility guidelines are followed.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
1. Coordinate and assign staff duties
2. Ensure DSP's compliance to schedule
3. Ensure staff to resident ratios [coverage] is sufficient and meet guidelines for the shift.
4. Arrange for coverage for the next shift when staff calls in.
5. Supervise and monitor the performance of all Direct Support Professionals on the shift.
6. On nights, weekends and holidays serves as the Administrator's designee/representative and will be in charge of the facility in the absence of the Administrator, Program Service Director or Director of Nursing.
7. Ensure that programs are appropriate and implemented as written and scheduled.
8. Acts as liaison between the Direct Support Professionals and QIDPs.
9. Attend and ensure that all staff under direct supervision attend in-service training and Team Meetings as scheduled.
10. Daily inspection of the living units for appearance and safety.
11. Make rounds with oncoming supervisor for next shift.
12. Ensuring accountability of all residents at all times during the shift.
13. Properly evaluate subordinate staff using the current employee appraisal system.
14. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
